Awesome job!
And I just love those chairs... By far the most comfortable theater seats I've ever auditioned!

Great job on your theater! What is the height of your riser for the rear row of seats? My ceiling is only about 88". What are your room dimensions?
Thanks,
Stace

Stace,

I have a unique setup for the rear riser that I came up with. My ceiling is only 80" high, so I know what tight is.

What I did was create a platform in front of the seats as a first step. I made it just high enough that a 6'4" tall person could stand on it and not hit the ceiling. That height was still not high enough for the back row, so the actual platform with the seats on it is several inches taller. That platform also extends out in front of the seats far enough to rest your feet on. Unless a person is very short, they can not stand on that platform without hitting their head.

What has to happen, when sitting down, is the sitter has to walk onto the first platform, then step one foot onto the seating platform and then pivot their body into the seat in a twisting motion.

I sounds difficult, but the motion is VERY natural.

When I had it done, I had several people come in and sit in the back row. I told them I wanted them to see how comfortable the seats were. I never said "watch out you don't bump your head".

Every single person just stepped up and pivoted right into the seats as they normally would.

I'm quite proud of the setup I came up with. It works out very well, and I don't think there would be any other way to make it happen without too much compromise.

You acually have 8 more inches of height than I do. So you should be golden.

The length and width of the room is 24x13.

Can I have those chairs?
They would fit perfectly in my living room.
