Against the back wall acoustic foam covers the wall - this sucks out mid/high frequency reverberation. Between the wall and the wooden frame can be seen the floating bass traps. These suck out excess bass energy in the room. These neat devices are essntially a sandwich of acoustic foam and plywood. They are tied to wooden structure so that they "float" in the cavity. The slatting on the front of the wall is computer modelled to liven the room back up again as a dead room is pretty unpleasant.

So nice! My wife and I just starred at each other for a second figuring out how to make this happen in our house..... I don't know whether I should thank you or curse you. Beautiful theater!
