After a few days adjusting the SD settings on the new Plasma, i rolled the old HD Tube TV over to compare the two images side by side. I found the plasma needed a high contrast setting to get it to look similar to the tube but i was able to get SD on the plasma to look about 95% as good as on the tube. I'm very happy with SD performance !
HD looks fantastic on it so i didn't compare it to the tube.
